Beauty Favourites 2015: Lips

In my review last year I mentioned the Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks, which I still love. They are great products for everyday, easily applied, good colour selection and all of that for a small price tag. I wouldn’t say that they are actually long lasting, but that aside I love them and carry them around in my handbag all the time. I’ve recently purchased a new one from their Nude range called Come Naturally. I should probably work on the post I’ve promised last year already. ūüėČ

I am also still loving Catrice’s lip polishes that unfortunately left their range and I have no idea why. If you know of any similar products, please let me know in the comments. Another staple is Illamasqua‘s matte lipstick in Shard, it just wears really well and I love the dark red colour.

I am new to LA Splash Cosmetics, but couldn’t help but follow the hype around their liquid lipsticks, particularly Ghoulish. Though it is quite drying after a while, I really like wearing it as it doesn’t need to be touched up all the time. If I learned anything this year about lipsticks then it is that I don’t want to worry about the colour on my lips all the time. I like products (or a combination of products) that allows me just that: Look good without thinking about it. I’ve just recently ordered two more of their Dia de los muertos collection that I should be showing you soon.

I’ve got two Gosh lip liners now and I think they are great quality and definitely worth a try if you come across them in the drugstore. This year I bought Nougat Crisp, a lovely brownish colour that suits the lipstick Nougat by Gosh perfectly.

New In: Gosh Lip Liner in Nougat Crips

Gosh РVelvet Touch Lipliner Waterproof in Nougat Crisp (£4.99/1.2g)

crueltyfree copy vegan copy

What Gosh says:

This soft and flexible Lipliner perfectly outlines lips with intense, waterproof colour pigmentation, preventing lipstick from bleeding onto the skin. Completely free from mineral oils and packed with vitamin E and Jojoba oil that keep lips in perfect kissable condition. Perfume free.

What I say:

Left: Lip liner in Nougat Crips; Right: Lipstick in Nougat

Works perfectly with my Gosh Velvet Touch Lipstick in Nougat¬†(¬£6.99), which is amazing by the way. So creamy, smells sweet and yummy and is so moisturising. The Nougat Crisp¬†lip liner is basically a matte version of the lipstick. I am pretty sure I will buy the lipstick¬†again once it is empty and now I have the perfect companion for it. This is my second lip liner by Gosh and like both of them a lot. They are creamy enough for easy application, yet they do set well and make my lipstick last longer. Besides that the Velvet Touch Lip Liners are cruelty-free and vegan. What more do you want? ūüôā

Kiko – Smart Lip Pencils

Kiko – Smart Lip Pencil

  • #707 Strawberry Red
  • #711 Light Plum
  • #715 Periwinkle Violet

What Kiko says:

  • Creamy and blendable wooden lip pencil.
  • An innovative formula, the result of the perfect balance between blendability and precision, to define lips with a natural finish.
  • The intense, high-coverage line adheres perfectly to the lips from the first application with a no-transfer, smudge-proof hold.
  • Hypoallergenic product = formulated to ensure minimum instance of allergic reactions.
  • Paraben free
  • Available in 16 colours.

What I say:

I like the creamy application of these liners and so far have nothing to complain about their longevity. They might not last all day, but surely your lipstick will last longer than without. Also, I like to wear the Periwinkle Violet shade just on its own.

Sleek – Eau La La Liner

Sleek Eau La La Liner

I was very excited when Sleek released the Eau La La Liners and immediately bought one in the colour Melba. I was impressed with the swatch, however shortly after I bought it the lead came off. I can still use it, but it is quite annoying, because I have to be careful that the lead stays in the packaging. Though I was dissapointed I thought I give those liners another try and bought one in the colour Cobalt Blue. Unfortunately I have the same issue with it, the lead just fell out immediately after I first opened it. Although I like the idea of the liners that can be used on your eyes and lips and come in a big range of colours, I am not satisfied with the quality of the product.

NYX Blush in #11 Taupe

NikkiTutorials compares her favorite blusher NYX Taupe with MAC Taupe. She uses this blush for contouring, which is why I decided to give it a go as well. Absolutely love it, especially during winter when I am extra pale.
