The Perfect Palette [TAG]

I really like this tag, I find it very interesting to see what palettes other people use and like the most. I have a small collection of palettes, most of them from Sleek, but I am also a big fan of the Too Faced palettes. With the 10 questions below I explored my stash and really enjoyed putting this post together. If you wanna see more Perfect Palette Tags, check out these posts:

1. Best Packaging

Too Faced - In Your Dreams

Too Faced – In Your Dreams (Dream Edition)

Do I really have to explain this? Just look at the picture… 🙂 I guess this can be called kitsch already, which I am normally not a fan of, but this packaging design is just beautiful. By the way, the inner life includes eyeshadows, blushes and lip glosses that are all great quality. I’m also a fan of the instructions Too Faced provides so that makeup newbies have some help how to use their new product.

2. Best Color Payoff

Sleek - Vintage Romance

Sleek – Vintage Romance

I have several brands I generally like for their colour payoff, namely Artdeco, Inglot and TooFaced. However, this Sleek Palette has a a great colour payoff, especially if you consider that it only costs £7.99 and therefore is a lot cheaper than the alternative brands I mentioned before. I think this Limited Edition is definitely worth its money, particularly if you like purple tones like me.

3. Most Versatile

Sleek Shangri La

Sleek – Respect [Shangri-La Collection]

For me this palette offers quite a variety of eye makeups, as I do like to wear neutrals and orange tones on my eyes on a regular basis. Probably doesn’t work for all eye colours, but with my green-brown eyes this colour selection works pretty well.

4. Best for Traveling

Too Faced - Glamour To Go

Too Faced – Glamour to Go (Dream Edition)

I love this palette for traveling as it includes almost everything you need to create a complete look. Further, it is quite small and doesn’t take up much space. The quality of Too Faced products as always surprised me and the the eyeshadows are super soft and easy to blend. See more of this palette at Blush Over Done.

5. Biggest Regret

Catrice - The Sydney Collection

Catrice – The Sydney Collection (Eye and Cheek Palette)

Luckily I found this palette in the sales section and didn’t pay full price as I am not super happy with it. I like the idea of having palettes for different cities and the design is nice too. Overall however, the palette is a bit bulky, but even more importantly the eyeshadows are not as pigmented as I would have wished. The colour selection is nice and I still use it once in a while, but if I would have to choose again, I would not buy it anymore. See some swatches over at Frau Kirschvogel.

6. Best Color Names

Too Faced - In Your Dreams

Too Faced – In Your Dreams (Dream Edition)

From what I’ve read online, I think that The Balm seems to have quite extraordinary and funny names. I don’t own any of their palettes, so looking at the ones in my stash the ‘In Your Dreams’ palette drew my attention on it again. The names of the eyeshadows suit the topic of the design quite well. Recent Sleek palettes have also been a bit more creative in the naming department.

7. Least Used

MUA Matte Palette

MUA – Matte Palette

I bought it for Halloween, as I thought it might be useful to have some matte colours handy, cheap ones that is, which I wouldn’t mind sharing with people coming over for our party. 😉 I used it for my halloween look, but ever since haven’t gotten around to use it again, so maybe it will get some more love in the future, as the shadows itself were actually not too bad.

8. Most Used

Sleek Au Naturel

Sleek – Au Naturel

This palette is also quite handy when traveling, especially for work when I am doing more natural looks. Unfortunately, my palette by now looks well loved, as all the traveling left its traces, and some of the eyeshadows are now in crumbles. Anyways, good for every day looks, thus probably the palette I used the most.

9. Most Loved

Rituals Amethyst

Rituals – Amethyst Collection

I just love these purple shades and how easily they glide on. See also some swatches in my previous post about the palette. When I first saw it I tried to tell myself I don’t need anymore purple eyeshadows, but some time later I could not resist anymore. Actually, I also bought the Rituals Duo Eyeshadow in Ameythst Impression with very similar colours.

10. Desert Island

Sleek Sunset

Sleek – Sunset

I know, I know, probably I should choose one of the palettes that is the most used and most loved, but honestly… stuck on a nice island I want to have some bright colours that can compete with the beauty of the water and the sun. So, without any question, it has to be Sleek’s Sunset Palette. It is definitely a go-to palette in summer when I feel like having a bright/red look.
